The answer is: MAYBE.  Social Security defines disabled as the inability to engage in "substantial gainful activity" because of a medical or psychiatric condition.  "Substantial gainful activity" means any kind of work on a full time basis or any kind of work that generates more than $980/month (in 2009).  Basically, if a medical or psychiatric condition limits you to part time work and those limitations are medically documented, you may be able to get Social Security disability benefits even though you are working a little bit.
